Rum extract isn't actually rum... It is an artificial flavoring that only tastes like it... No alcohol involved.

I had someone pick the ingredients up for me, and they managed to pick the CHEAPEST CREAM SODA POSSIBLE. Needless to say, the beer part turned out bad, but I continue to put the foamy stuff on my coffee in the morning.

I'm totally making this and putting it in my butter beer mug from Hogsmead (Universal Studios). It was amazing there, but this is probably just as good and $15 cheaper.

In the uk. Our cream soda is clear. Thinking this isn't right. Asda (now owned by walmart so sells more american products) sells Carters root beer. Would that be similar to A&W? @alicesmith I wouldn't use ginger beer. Not the same. Rum extract in the baking aisle. Marshmallow I found in the kosher section. Butter extract online and the rest is simples.

This is a nice little recipe but is not how butter beer that the Harry Potter books are based on correctly made. If you look it up on Google, butter beer is a traditional old English recipe that uses ale and butter. This recipe sounds good but is more akin to a cola float than actual butter beer.

For UK people: You can get soft marshmallow and A&W Soda Cream from most American Stores like Fizzy Lips, Butter Extract online. Just use real rum and whipped cream in any supermarket.

I reckon melted butter might work for us British folk? And the rest you can get in a supermarket I think. Cream soda? Yip. Rum extract? Definitely. Asda are selling more and more American products because of walmart so shouldn't be too difficult.
