Fill your apples with the mix. All of the mix won't fit into your apples. Shame.

Either braid your pie dough over the filled apples or just cut a piece of dough to cover and make some holes to let the steam out.

Dear Lindsay thank you for your kind words. I used pie pastry. I think puff pastry will well puff up too much if you want to braid it, but will look nice if you just cover the apple with it.
