Stretch the slices of halved bacon to lengthen and thin slightly. This helps it wrap better and cook evenly.

Love these! Made them a few times already and they are such a crowd pleaser! Thanks for such an awesome recipe! I did try once baking them at 300 for an hour and they didn't come out quite as good. 2 hours at 250 is perfect.

I haven't tried that @Jeff Miller, but living in the south, I totally get the concern. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes! ;)

Just curious, but have you ever tried 350F for about 20 minutes? Don't know if I want to leave my oven on that long during the summer. Look awesome though! I've made a similar thing using bread strips and cream cheese. Always a favorite. Nice guide! Thanks

@Allison Meadows I don't know for sure, but I think it is because it allows the bacon cook to crispy low and slow, giving the bacon fat time to render into the cheese and cracker which soaks it in and cooks them, too, without them burning from too much heat too fast. They are so worth the wait! They never last more than 5-10 mins when I make them for a party, and they go great with my beer margaritas!
