Open that part into a pocket, and flatten it down on the crease marks already established.

Sorry for getting back to you so late. The shape would certainly hold, but the individual chambers are hollow, so you may have to use some more paper as a backing.

I was thinking of making this into a boutonnière, the flower men wear on their chest with a suit jacket. If I cut off the pointed bottom, will the shape still hold, do you think?

Colored construction paper would certainly work; you would have to cut it into squares, though.

I don't think post it notes would work because they have stickiness that would hinder the opening of pockets and such, but try it, and let me know!
