How to Make a "We Were Infinite" Collage💫
A quick, easy way to make a beautiful and stylish wall collage inspired by The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.
First, you need to make the sealer. This is basically a homemade Modge-Podge. Take your Mason jar and fill it with glue and water. About half each, but use a tad more glue then water.
Here's all the supplies you need.
First, select and print the pictures you would like to use. I used more rustic pictures with a darker feel to better fit the motif of my color scheme.
Use the scissors to cut out each picture.
Using the X-Acto knife and a little creativity, you can find ways to cut out certain elements of a picture, and make them really pop!
Cut some of the pictures out in odd shapes, like grunge circles ^^^
Now make two stacks: one of just rectangular-cut pictures, and one of 'die-cut' pictures.
Paint the canvas whatever color you want as a background. This color will only be seen between the gaps in the pictures. I chose black, as I am going for a darker color scheme.
Let the canvas dry COMPLETELY before the next step.
When your canvas is dry, arrange your pile of rectangular-shaped pictures the way you want, as a base.
Next, add your 'die-cut' pictures on top of your base pictures.
Using the double-sided tape, stick the pictures to the canvas; starting with the base pictures.
This is my canvas after the past step. As you can see, I'm going for a darker, rustic feel.
Next, take your homemade Modge-Podge and paint a thin coat on the entire canvas, using a sponge brush.
After you add your Modge-Podge, your collage will look like a God-awful mess ;) Don't worry about it, just let it dry.
Add a second coat. The pictures will be wrinkled. THAT IS OK. You want the pictures to be rugged and wrinkled by the end of second coat.
Lastly, take your sharpie and write the words on the collage (next step).
I found a picture with the words on it, so I am omitting the sharpie for this picture. "And in that moment, I swear, we were infinite."
Finished! Now you have a beautiful collage with a beautiful saying to hang on your wall!
