Seemed like some steps were missing, because the glue was already on the book insides, as she was cutting. Do you glue, as you cut? Or cut, glue, cut, and then glue?

If you want the lid to shut securely you can always cut a piece of cardboard the same size as the hole in the pages and stick it on the inside cover, making sure to line it all up properly. Then it would close snuggle, just an idea :)

U can get books like this at Smiggle:) I did this using 7 old textbooks so Mum wouldn't look through, did a heavy glue job and then lightly sanded so it wouldn't get glossy :)
