I used cotton string so I had to use glue. If you use a plastic based string, like nylon, you can use a lighter and melt the edges. The ends are just how I make it. Look for other options on YouTube.
Step 2 of 24
Choose a base color, this color is only seen on the ends.
Step 3 of 24
Choose 3 colors that will make the wave of the bracelet.
Step 4 of 24
Cut 1 yard of the base string, cut 3 more. There should be 4 overall.
Step 5 of 24
Cut 1 yard of each wave color then fold in half and cut at the top.
Step 6 of 24
Tie a temporary knot about 3 inches from the top.
Step 7 of 24
Attach your strings so that they don't move. I use a clipboard.
Step 8 of 24
Separate the base color from the rest. There should be 8.
Step 9 of 24
Separate the 8 strings into 4. Now you have 4 strings together that count as 1.
Step 10 of 24
Separate your strings in the order you want them to be.
Step 11 of 24
Take strings 6 and 7.
Step 12 of 24
Tie 2 right knots onto 7.
Step 13 of 24
Repeat on string 8.
Step 14 of 24
Repeat steps 12 and 13 with the rest of the strings keeping them in order.
Step 15 of 24
Tie 2 left knots onto 8 and 2 onto 7. Repeat with rest of strings.
Step 16 of 24
Make sure that the strings are just right. You should be able to see every string on the sides.
Step 17 of 24
Fix the waves every once in a while so you know it's real length. Also, you are working on the back of the bracelet, so that is what you should see.
Step 18 of 24
Continue until the bracelet is at least 3-4 inches long. Do the same thing you have been doing but do it on both of the base strings.
Step 19 of 24
Tighten your knots. Pick a string to wrap around. Cut the rest of the strings and glue them down.
Step 20 of 24
Wrap the string you picked around the other then glue it down. And trim it.
Step 21 of 24
Make a round braid using four of the base strings. Video on next slide.
Step 22 of 24
Step 23 of 24
Ta da! To make an adjustable knot see my guide for that.
Did you make the other bracelet you have on? And do you know how to make one like this but with one wave, and where the waves cross each other? I have the crossing one, but I bought it from somebody else. Love it! Thanks :)
