Follow the directions that came with the stovetop espresso maker to make your espresso. Start espresso first!! *Better to use a dark roast*
Try to time the milk and espresso to be done close to the same time. Try your best to make the latte immediately after the espresso is done, if you let it sit it will get bitter.
Make sure that the whisk ball is not in the bottle when you pour the milk in. Place about 6oz of milk into the blender bottle. (You can use a sealing bottle with a ball of aluminum foil if need be)
Place the milk into the microwave for about a minute and a half. *can also boil on stove* Then you can put the whisk in and shake it mildly for about 20 seconds. Don't shake it until its ALL foam..
Place the maker on the stovetop and cook it on medium high. Should be done in a few minutes so keep an eye on it. DO NOT leave it on the stove top after it is done or it will get a burnt flavor.
While those are cooking, crumble cookies into a fine powder so you can sprinkle them on the top when the latte is finished. (If you want them)
Get your cup ready! I use a Bodum double wall latte cup.
Add espresso first, about two shots. The espresso machines create shots with creme on top, if you have that you'll have the best latte.
I put a little bit of pure foam on top of mine. I like the texture.
Sprinkle the cookies, add the caramel or add whip if you like! Experiment with different things and enjoy!!
