Get your bread or bagel or English muffin and put it in the toaster, but don't push it down yet

This is the key: the perfect egg cooking dish. If you don't have the correct dish, find it! Mine is shallow, ceramic and about the same size as a bagel. Make sure it is microwaveable.

Get your egg and scramble it well with a fork. Scrambling is the key here. Too little scrambling and you might hear a large bang in your microwave and a big mess to clean up

Eggs out. Put the slice of cheese or a handful of shredded on top of the egg and put the bacon in. My microwave gets set to 80% power for 35-40 seconds for the bacon.

At some point around now the toast has popped back up. Assemble your sandwich and pack it up to go.

Step 8 of 8
I haven't mastered the packaging. I imagine some parchment paper would be better than aluminum foil. With aluminum foil you need to eat it within ten minutes or it starts to get soggy.

Looks good. Did you cook the egg in the same bowl you used for scrambling?

Not really sure how protein can vanish... It can change forms if I remember chemistry correctly

@karma I was always under the assumption that microwaving food greatly reduces the nutrient contents. However, a couple of years ago I heard Harold McGee (who wrote On Food and Cooking) on NPR say that microwaving is actually one of the best cooking methods for retaining the nutrients in vegetables. I decided to do some research and find out more. It turns out that the majority of food scientists agree that microwaving does not have destructive effects on the nutrients in most foods. For a brief background see http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/17/health/17real.html. I still prefer to cook on the stove and in the oven, for taste and other reasons. However, if I am at the office, and my only choice is a microwave, I will certainly use it. Making an egg with some veggies in a mug in the microwave is one the easiest and healthiest meals I can make at work.

Microwaving eggs takes out all the protein and key nutrients eggs give you. Three eggs typically give you as much energy as a can of redbull, cooking them thus way has no health benefits.
