How to Make a Cheap & Easy Teeth Whitening Rinse

Step 1 of 9

Gather supplies: Dark Food Safe Container, Water, Hydrogen Peroxide, (optional) flavoring

Step 2 of 9

*NOTICE: Store bought rinse ingredients is water and hydrogen peroxide. I could add glycerin or honey if I suffered from dry mouth. The glycerin or honey coats the mouth and attracts moisture.

Step 3 of 9

Mix equal parts of water and hydrogen peroxide.

Step 4 of 9

*NOTICE: Check the label on the hydrogen peroxide. It needs to say that it may be used as an oral rinse. WARNING!!....DO NOT SWALLOW! For Rinse Only!

Step 5 of 9

(Optional: May use few drops of flavoring if desire.). Normally, I don't.

Step 6 of 9

Stir the water, hydrogen peroxide, and optional flavoring. Then add to dark food safe container.

Step 7 of 9

May use the same directions as store bought label states. I swish and gargle before brushing my teeth.😃

Don't forget to label with your "recipe".

Oh and the hydrogen peroxide has no taste. It's odorless and tasteless.

Food grade glycerin is in the section with the cake icing. A little goes a long way. Cake decorators use it to thin their icing and keeps the color stronger of the icing. You may also find it at Health Food stores. As long as it is "vegetable based", you can use it. But if you like to try something else, honey is a natural humectant. And it works!

Where might I find glycerin? I suffer from dry mouth but the store bought stuff is outrageously expensive. Does the hydrogen peroxide taste bad?
