24-hour Moon diet is a liquid diet, based on the change of the Moon phases - new moon, first quarter, full moon and last quarter.

The 24-hour lunar diet starts, when the Moon enters into one of its four phases, and ends 24 hours later.

During the diet you do not eat, it is recommended only to drink fresh squeezed juice from fruits and vegetables and mineral water. Do not drink coffee, milk or alcohol.

So please try to do this. I wasn't hungry at all, and at the end if you feel hungry you can really stop at any moment.

You shouldn't be eating that second meal I ate coz it has more calories. But I wasn't eating any unhealthy food last week so I really didn't have to detoxicate my body.

I personally would like to try this. I have some medical issues and have an appt to see my Dr on Weds and will seek medical clearance to make sure it doesn't cause any adverse effects with my condition. But, I agree that on any given day most people are either eating unhealthy foods or consume pesticides so to clean our organs can only benefit out bodies (full moon or not). So basically, this fast doesn't necessarily have to be just for dieting and yes before fasting for the first time, or if you have medical issues or take medication you should seek medical advice to get clearance. Aleksandra, can you offer any suggestions on prepping your body for the fast and also suggestions on what to eat when coming off the fast? In the end people, it's a guide that I think is informative but as with anything we may have to personalize it to what is best for ourselves as a unique individual. Thank you for sharing your guide Aleksandra, and know that you do not need to respond to arguments; it only gives them more attention. This is a sharing website and everyone can choose to try or not try any guide that is shared on the site.

You could do this diet any time and have the same results. Moon has nothing to do with it. Also water weight can fluctuate by several lbs in a day. Best part of this guide is "eat fresh fruits and vegetables".

Kaitlin you can eat fresh fruit and vegetables. I just put everything in blender because is easier to eat parsley or spinach for example if you put together with apple, mango or strawberries.

And I'm not going to provide to you some proof other than I experienced. Sorry Alexandra, my wording at 4:00 in the morning is quite dread, what I meant to point out is yes, fasting occasionally makes the body believe it is starving and kicks it into starvation mode, making us burn fewer calories, and Fatima, as a chemist, duhh, your just consuming fruits and vegetables! There is absolutely no transformation of matter, it's a physical aspect, as a blended fruit contains the same nutrients as a solid one, your not adding or subtracting, point is here is to cut gimmicks and truly just eat fruit and vegetables (blended french fry diet sounds like an excellent juice diet but doesn't work does it?) Juice is alot easier for us to take in then fruit, and that is not only a physical factor but a mental factor due to the factor that teenagers intelligences are deteriorating faster than it is growing, all in all, HD your a douchebag

I'm a medical student and I can say without a doubt that a juice fast consisting fruits and vegetables once a week is very beneficial for your health. That is as long as you don't suffer from some specific metabolic disorders, such as diabetes (mentioned earlier). I think if you actually researched you'd find lots of scientific data backing this. Perhaps you should actually ask a doctor before you say such combative comments.

I don't think that fasting is bad for the body. I think the starvation is, but not fasting. Fasting is very well known as a good mechanism for detoxication and it doesn't harm your body. I think we shouldn't be so worry about ' how bad is fasting for us' and be more considered why we need to practice fasting. If you are not eating crap food you don't need to think about fasting. If you harm your body with eating French fries and drinking soda don't blame fasting for feeling bad and starving.

Hi, if I may add, do not be fooled by the scale, we fluctuate in weight through out the day. Personally I do not believe the Moon has any scientific aspect on the Human Body, but I won't get into details on that, Overall it's a healthy diet, as long as there is no starvation or missing nutrition. Fasting occasionally by the way is bad for the body

Dear Hagar I think you are wrong when saying that one day of fasting is dangerous. I don't want to get popular so I don't have problems with getting popularity and I would never share something that can be dangerous for people or influence on their health. I didn't get your ' well, I happen to be Jewish' because in almost all religions people practicing fasting... I was practicing fasting since I was little girl even I'm Orthodox, Muslim are also practicing very restrict fasting. You are just repeating what I said 'when we fast we must eat before the fasting properly'. As I said you can't be on some kind of diet to lose weight and then fast for one day like this. Because you need to eat properly before and if you feel weak you shouldn't be doing it. And I didn't speak about 'fruit and vegetables diet' which means constantly practicing that diet but about one day in a week of eating fruit and vegetables.

Well, I happen to be Jewish and I do fast as part of the tradition. As I said I am an healthy person and a combat soldier...when we fast we must eat before the fast properly. We can't just start it. How can a fruit and vegetables diet can be unhealthy? Easily! We need more than vitamins in order to live, breath, develop, workout etc..

Well with all respect but it is very strange to hear that this is unhealthy. I mean what's unhealthy in eating fruit and vegetables and drink water for just one day? Dangerous? I already said if you have some problems and if you are a weak you shouldn't be practicing this diet. A healthy person can be whole day without eating, that's not difficult. Let just suppose if we stay somewhere without food for one day... Nothing is going to happen. Now if you are all the time on some diets off course your body is going to be weak and you are going to feel dizzy practicing this diet. Anyway everybody has its subjective reasons but that doesn't mean this diet is unhealthy and dangerous.

I'm a vert healthy person but I almost fainted while trying that...my head was aching and I couldn't function...I had to eat a bowl of rice w/mushrooms at night and fell much better! Not recommended at all!!!

I think the result of this diet changes in dependence of your usual diet. If you always eat healthy food and a lot of fiber in the day of fasting you are not going to lose much. If you eat lets's say not so healthy after one day of fasting you'll lose more. Fasting one day is very good, any day. It's a day off for your organs. :)

My husband and I tried this and I just lost 1 pound that day but my husband lost 3 pounds. We tried it on another day and didn't follow the moon calendar and it was still the same. I lost 1.5 and my husband lost 3 I guess it also depends on 1's body type. Sadly I loose weight very slowly.The melon diet works great! We are going to hold on to the melon diet every now and then. Thanks a lot :)

You can start at any moon phases. I read on several places that is the best to start at full moon(here in Italy that's tomorrow). And I also read in few places that any diet works better if it's practicing in the period between full moon and the new moon. I kind respect that. I believe that's going to bring better result. But fasting once a week any day is also not bad. :)

:) so you confirmed my boyfriends theory! He doesn't believe in this moon phases thing, in his opinion if you do that any day you'll get the same result. I can't prove the moon phases diet it's 100% true. I just know that following moon phases gives me good discipline and it works. Maybe it's the same in any other day. And if it is... good for us! I'm very glad you made it. It's very good for our body and even though it's a bit difficult you feel good at the end. ;)

I'm so glad to hear this. I feel the same after I practice it. It's a bit hard not to eat but I really feel clean at the end. I started yesterday at 5 pm coz that's the time for Italy. If you don't eat unhealthy food you'll lose less in this diet coz you'll have less tocsins in your body. And less water. And it's true you feel like you don't want to eat anymore that crap food. I mean I'm not a crazy girl who just eat salad and who is always on diet. I like eating a lot. But I like 'clean' food. I feel better eating it. Once you practice it for few months it's going to become part of your life and you'll count on it every week like something you do for yourself. It feels good. :)

Yesterday was the new moon and after reading your guide and looking at a couple more websites I did the 24 hr fast. Just fresh squeezed juices and lots of water - I knew I would be having a busy day yesterday so that helped distract me from my usual routine! So this morning I hop on the scales and I'm a kilo down! That's a huge difference to me but the main thing I want to mention is how good I feel after it. I did feel hungry at certain points but I drank more and it passed, last night before bed I felt so good, not bloated from dinner and a lovely flat belly! I realise it's just water weight but the feeling of having cleaned out my system a little makes me feel like I don't want to put the rubbish back in and am so looking forward to eating clean veg and fruit and have no craving for processed sweet treats at all. Thank you for inspiring me to try this, I'll definitely be doing it again for the full moon in a couple of weeks time x

At the end of the page you have to chose the State and the city and it will show you moon phases for your city. You start with this diet a the time when the phases starts. So if it says 10:20 it's a fool moon you will start then.

4 times that's cool I so want to do it I don't understand these phases I am in California can you give me an example of few upcoming dates. All I understand in these moon calendars is full moon half moon days. Nothing says when it enters a phase. Sorry about this but I do want to try it out I just want to loose like five kgs I am hoping to try this and see if this works out as good for me :) thanks a ton !!!

Yes, it is really good. I did this diet two days ago and I lost 2kg. I'll post another guide today about that. Now, there is no any full moon day, there is just one day in month when moon is full. So you have to search for that. It depends of the place you live, so it's not the same if you live in Europe and America. You can do it in each 4 phases, that's for sure. Search on the Internet for the moon phases calendar for your State. So basically you can do it 4 times a month. Hope I was clear. :)

I used to do this very often and always felt great to detoxify the body of toxins... But when I became very ill, I tried to detoxify and (for me) I found I could detoxify so as long as I ate light meals, such as miso soup, tofu, et... No bread! I can't detoxify anymore without eating due to medications I'm on. Also, diabetics should not go 24-hours without eating unless they're under 24-hour medical supervision. It's scary to see what not eating does to a diabetic. (I'm not diabetic). Aleksandra, your picture of the moon/water is so beautiful! I will give you an app I cannot live without....

;) Try to do that. If you see you can't do it try to not eat for at least 12 hours, you'll still give a break to your body. I repeat I do this when I really feel my body is tired. And of course you won't lose 4 lbs of fat, that's just a water full of toxins you hold in your body. And it's a good way to start some diet as well.

Hi Vanessa! So that was one apple, one orange, around 200g of strawberries, one kiwi, one carrot, around 10g of parsley and one beet. If you don't like the taste you don't have to add the beet. And parsley really doesn't change the taste. But still that was a lot for one meal and I wasn't hungry. You try to do it like you can. First time eat more, don't exhaust yourself, then every next time you'll see the way which is best for you. I really felt good in the morning but the few first times I did this diet wasn't so successful coz I wasn't eating anything like for 8 hours and then suddenly I would take any kind of food I had around.
