How to Grow an Avocado Tree

In this guide I will show you how to grow and avocado tree using a pit that you actually take from avocado

This is you what need

Step 3 of 10

Take an avocado pit out of an avocado

Step 4 of 10

I used my avocado to make guacamole

Step 5 of 10

Take your toothpick and stick it in the seed with the "pointy" side sticking up. You could also try angling the toothpick up so it can dip down in the water easily

Step 6 of 10

This is what it looks like with all four toothpicks in

Step 7 of 10

Rest your seed on your cup or bowl

Step 8 of 10

Take your cup or bowl and pour water in the cup or bowl

Step 9 of 10

The seed should be half-way submerged in the water

Step 10 of 10

Your tree will take 4-6 weeks to sprout. It will take 1-2 weeks for the seed to split

If you pour a thin coating of oil on top of the water, it won't evaporate so fast. ;)

My seeds never sprout. They only form a crack along the sides. What am I doing wrong. Are my seeds sterile?
