Open the half you just folded up and create creases to form a triangle as shown in the next video.

Start with an inside corner (not the edge of the bill) and fold it down as shown.

Repeat fold on the other corner then flip your bill and do the same to the other side.

Slip your thumbs in the center area like the photo above. Use your fingers to hold the folds you just made in the previous steps in place as you open. This can be a trick with new crispy bills.

The last step as a video, as requested. To get the bill to open correctly you can imagine a hinge at the tip of the triangle (back of the bow tie). As you open you want to keep this section together.

There should be a small hole in the back where the triangles meet. It's not tied down, per se, but if your bill is crispy and folds are tight it should stay put no problem.
