Those look delicious. I've also made them by using oil and splashing it over the eggs while they cook. Makes them kind of fluffy, I learned that living in Louisiana. But growing up ( in ny) we just cracked em in a buttered pan and let them alone till they were done. Now I don't make them at all cause my significant other like over easy and my kids like "Humpty Dumpty". Marcel would you check out my egg guides too? Maybe we could swap tricks!

Iwona, thanks for the title suggestion. Lol. I had no idea calling my eggs "sunny side up" would piss EVERYONE off if I didn't make them the exact same way they do. But I'm thoroughly entertained and I love the pleasant feedback (like yours). Now I'm looking forward to a lot of tasty new egged out breakfasts.

Marcel to break the membrane you simply poke and gently drag the white of the egg the yolk stays untouched :) the egg white will spill out and spread out and in turn cooking faster, just try it it's very easy. Oh I have an idea call your eggs Marcel's sunny eggs so no one gets too offended that we are using wrong term to describe it lol

Thanks Mike, Iwona, and Tina! Tina, tell me more about "breaking" the membrane... I'd like to try it. Doesn't the yolk spill all over the place?

However it's a great trick and if you're happy that's all that matters, I bet some people will try it and love it :)

It's not a basted egg either, that's done with water and a lid. I've been cooking eggs professionally for many years, so I do know the professional standards. For sunny just break the membrane as soon as you crack egg into pan, the white will cook faster. There is never a "skin" over the yolk.

Really nice ;) I have few tricks myself - low heat is the most important I agree . I'm too lazy to use my broiler lol I simply put a cover over the pan the heat and steam will set your egg really fast and the yolk will be nice and yellow ( having a glass lid is really helpful) I think your guide is awesome ;)

Not a sunny side up egg man. For sunny side up you should be using the access butter in the pan and scoop the hot butter over the uncooked egg white. A sunny side up egg should have a bright yellow yolk. What you have here is a basted egg.
