Step 1 of 4

Ever had a pot of oily gravy or soup and you spent the next hour or two trying to scoop out or freeze out the oil? Here's a quick solution, courtesy of my mother-in-law.

Step 2 of 4

Hold a piece of paper towel in two hands and lower it onto the top of your gravy and suck it up! Yes it is that easy!

Rusty, you're probably right about that being the best part. Unfortunately, both my husband and I are not good with oily food, so our loss I guess 😊

You've ruined the curry by taking out the best part. The bright red coconut oil is very important. I can see the application of this for other dishes, but please, leave the Thai curries the way they're supposed to be!

This works well, I've done this or you can throw in a handful of ice cubes. Let them set for 30 sec or so (u can tell) then remove. I can't take credit for this idea, someone on this guide posted it. I'm just another Mom In Law passing on a good idea.
