To save your money I will tell you what my team of doctors and health professionals encouraged me to do.

Step 3 of 10

I decided to stop taking modern medicine as my doctor said "it doesn't take away the pain it just makes it ok to live with"! Bandaids are nice but i just wanted to get better.

Step 4 of 10

So I connected with a naturopath and ding a light went off! Your body is lacking vitimans take 2 one a day women's vitimans for 3 weeks 1in morn & 1at supper then just switch to taking 1in the morning

Step 5 of 10

Take 2 magnesium before you go to bed for 3 wks then after that just take whenever the pain is getting bad, for me it's when rainy weather is on the way, blahhhhhh!

Step 6 of 10

Drink lots of water ALWAYS! Lots of iron rich foods I.e. Red meat, egg yolks, dark green, leafy veg, dried fruit - prunes, raisins.

Step 7 of 10

young coconut 1a wk to your diet, their water is the highest form of electrolytes known and is identical to blood plasma. Drinking and eating its flesh is like giving yourself a blood transfusion.

Step 8 of 10

Try to find an exercise that's right for you! I stared out with walking and now I have a regular routine i follow, which btw took me over a year to achieve. It will be different for every fibromite!

Step 9 of 10

Remember, balance is everything! By adjusting and tweaking what we do and feed our bodies to achieve balance, we can fight the pain to live in a more painless state. Fibrohugs xo

Step 10 of 10

Also, sunlight, Epsom salt, hydro therapy are all helpful! Hope all living with fibromyalgia find this helpful.

Hi Shannon, the energy drink sounds helpful I think I'll ask my naturopath about it next time I'm there. Are you newly diagnosed? Hang in there! :)

I am seriously impressed by all of you who are advocating for ones you love that are affected by fibromyalgia, kudos to all of you! It can be so hard watching the people you love battling such horrendous pain! Let's hope they find a cure soon, fingers crossed and lots of prayers. XO

Thanks for sending this to me Chris! I think I'm doing a lot of this anyway. Vitamins and minerals do help my energy levels. I have an energy shake mix (Alive!) 2-3 times per week, or anytime I'm lagging. It's a whole foods supplement. I think it's helping.

Hi Terri, good question! Epsom salt is a product you can find in the pharmacy or health care section of a store. It is very inexpensive. When having a bath and filling up the tub pour a generous amount into the tub. I like to put in at least five or more cups and I add 3 cups of sea salt when I'm feeling like I can barely move, then I light a candle, turn off the lights get in the bath and relax. Sometimes I bring my iPod in and watch a trashy soap opera just do I can think about nothing a trashy novel can help with clearing your mind to. Or if your blessed with zen then just meditate:)

You're welcome! And yes, things can get pricey. We are fortunate in Ontario that we don't have to pay to see the dr. But we have to pay for visits to the naturopath and everything else. Please note I made an edit by taking 2 vitimans a day please space that out 1 in the morning and one at supper TAKE with food and lots of water.

Thank you for posting this. My mother just found out she has fibromyalgia and is opting to stay away for modern medicine because, just as you said, it won't take away the pain and will make it easier to live with. We have been looking up other methods to incorporate into everyday life. This looks very manageable! Thanks for such great advice! :)

OMG, how simple. Even I can do this. TY so much for sharing. I know this probably cost u a fortune, unless u found a great DR who was just trying to help u and not just make money. Thanks again for sharing, I will do this.

If you aren't doing so already, you will benefit by taking agave inulin powder. Helps your body by helping absorb calcium and magnesium plus a bunch of other cool stuff. I have fibro too and I treat with just food and vitamins too:) I use vitagave blue agave inulin powder. It does not act well as a sweetener though. Its pretty tasteless and clumps weird in hot drinks
