How to Dye Your Hair With Kool Aid!

This will work better with lighter hair then darker, but it's a lot of fun!

Supplies

Put on an old tshirt that you don't mind if a few stains will get on them! I just put on one of my dad's old tshirts

I'm using strawberry so it'll be a redish color(: also make sure it's unsweetened so you won't have sticky hair!

Put the kool aid powder into a bowl, I'm using 2 packets

Put a few drops of water into the powder. I put a little too much. I think it's a little easier to have it a little more runnier rather than a paste.

Mix! Make sure there aren't any clumps

Take your hair conditioner (I'm using one that I don't use anymore)

And put one drop into the mixture

Mix!

Sorry about my face(: but I split my hair down the middle and put one section in a ponytail just so it doesn't get in the way.

I split my hair into 3 sections, it depends how thick or thin your hair is. But I started from the back, and moved the other hair out of the way.

Take your mixture and put it evenly on your hair. I just wanted to do the ends of my hair, but you can do what you want. Also make sure you have gloves on! I wasnt that smart so I didn't put any on:P

Now tear off a medium sized piece of aluminum foil. You can also use saran wrap, but I thought aluminum foil was much easier.

Then wrap it around the dyed sections of your hair. Make sure you do a good job because you'll be sleeping with this! And make sure no pieces of hair get out!

Both sides done!

Now you don't want your hands looking like you murdered someone(; do you?

I have no idea why it's upside down, but take any kind of toothpaste and put a little drop on your hands. Rub it all over like soap for a few minutes, and rinse.

Or if you're like me and toothpaste doesn't work, use shaving gel and do the same thing.

Now go to sleep! Or if your doing this in the middle of the day, let it stay covered for about 8 hours or longer.

Unwrap the foil

Then rinse out your hair until you see no more due washing out. It will be a lot of dye coming out, but don't worry that's normal. After you washed it out, put conditioner on and rinse again

As you can tell it doesn't work as well with darker hair, but in the sun it looks great!

I dyed my hair with koolaid a year ago and it still hasn't came out! Never dye your hair w/ koolaid!!!!! It not only faded and left my hair stained a ugly faded red, but it also permanently damaged my hair. I have tried dying and everything to fix my hair but it is still messed up from the koolaid.

When I did mine I added a whole cup of water instead of a few drops and it washed out. Even though I used less it was still dark:D

You can use vinegar rather than water too. Not picking on your guide, it's great (: and I did it in light hair it held really well like, months.

Warning: if u have really light blonde hair like me, it won't come out easily... I've washed mine about 45 times and it is still in there (barely, but still) (I used blue)

Any color should work. I wouldn't use like yellow or anything light though. And yes you should be able to, just take the one strip and put the kool aid mixture on that and wrap that in aluminum foil

Does any color work? What if you have a blonde brown hair color? Can you do just one strip?
