How to Draw Eyes

This is how I sketch eyes on my portraits. Every artist has his/her own style so feel free to deviate! ;)

Step 1 of 15
Lightly draw 2 horizontal lines on a piece of paper, about a centimeter apart. Add two dots on the bottom line about 3.5 inches apart.

Step 2 of 15
Make 2 dots on the upper line, approx. 3 inches diagonal to the first 2 dots. (Sorry the left dot can't be seen because my picture was cut) :(

Step 3 of 15
Draw the eye's outline starting with the inner corner on the lower dot, and the outer corner on the upper dot. I usually do sort of a leaf shape.

Step 4 of 15
Draw a circle inside your eye and draw a curved line from the outer corner towards the inner corner, forming the creases.

Step 10 of 15
In the same pattern, add a second line above the lower portion of your eye, this would form your waterline.

Step 13 of 15
With a darker shade, draw small hairs on the line starting from the inner corner with more hairs, following the pattern you drew previously, lessening the number of hairs as you go.

Step 14 of 15
Do the same on the other side. And with some minor detailing, you're done!
