Fill a vase or glass half full with water and add food coloring. A small vase or glass needs about 6 to 7 drops. Have fun mixing Colors!

Leave the flowers in the vase for a couple of hours.  It will start out pastel and get darker so check on it every hour or so.

Hello Christina~ yes, it will work on white roses. Carnations work best and it takes at least 2~3 hrs for it to show. The longer you leave it in, the darker the colors. And as far as gel food colorant, I haven't tried it so I'm not too sure. My guess is it will work. I hope you take this idea and experiment with it. As Samantha mentioned, it's really great for theme parties... Like a green rose or carnation for st. Patrick's day~
