You can start with an actual piece of artwork on canvas, or you can make your own! My niece, Lauren, and I painted this one.

I used blue tape, so as to not pull up the paint, to make a stripe at the top and bottom of the painting, about four inches from both sides.

Pull out the letters needed and arrange how you want to see them on the canvas. This will determine how many lines to measure.

I calculated the distance between each line of words and measured it on the canvas. You can use the blue tape to make straight lines, or just draw with a pencil. This will help to keep words straight.

I double checked the letters on the canvas to make sure they were just right!

I pulled off the tape gently, and stuck the letters to the canvas. You want them to stick as best as possible so the spray doesn't leak underneath; mine did - but it came out with a cool effect...

Spray paint: about a foot away from canvas, nice/even pendulum swings over the canvas. I did five light coats to avoid leaking/running. Wait five minutes between each coat.

After the spray dried, I gently took off each letter and the tape. VOILA!! I hope they like it! (the spray leaked underneath a bit, but it gives it a softness that wasn't predicted!)
