Pull hair through the hair tie like you're going to make a messy bun, except leave the tail hanging to the front.

See the loop at the top? Split it in half.

Wrap the tail around the middle of the bow.

Tuck the tail into the back of the hair tie, so that bit of hair hangs out the back.
