Plum powder is just a secret ingredient that my dad add so you can just use five spice powder if you have that! Good luck!!

Thank you, Air. That's easy then, I already have rice wine, so I just need to look for the plum powder.

As to you question it would have to be Asian alcohol! It can also be rice wine if you can't find Taiwanese whisky. You should be able to find either of those in most of the Chinese supermarket! :) let me know how it goes if you ever decide to make it! :)

Thank you so much Laura! Oops on the garlic and the other quantities, it must sound like one powerful meal with my typo! Heehee

I second the Whiskey question. Substitutes? I can not find the one used.

That looks delicious! You might want to check your supplies list - I think a couple of your quantities are a little bit off. (A gallon of garlic and a quart of whiskey seem high! But the quantities you list in the guide itself make sense). Would other kinds of whiskey, like bourbon or Tennessee whiskey or scotch be good substitutes if we can't find the whiskey you list? I'm also excited to find and try your secret ingredient! Thanks for a great guide.
