I liked dark beer but use light as well. Typically use 50/50 water/beer - really like the apple juice option! Thanks for sharing.

I think Scott is kinda right, keep some beer for drinking! Those brats look amazing, a cold bear would go great with it. Mash or chips too 😍🍻🍴

I don't like beer at all but it gives the brats a really great taste and keeps them moist.

Haven't tried it with the darker beers as of yet. Onions and butter sounds good as well.

I meant meat - not meet.

I poke holes in them to get the beer into the meet. Yes you may lose some of the good stuff, but what you gain is better taste in the meat. Haven't had a complaint yet about them. Everyone I have made them for love them. Yes it is great for the 4th. I hope you enjoy.

No way I buy my brats home made at a little meat shop never stick them wih a fork that lets all the good stuff out and drink the beer don!t cook wih it . So what have we learned # 1 get thr beer cold and drink it never cook with it # 2 buy your brats at a little meat shop and never stick then cook then to a golden brown and eat them .

I usually get a six pack of the Motts juice in the plastic bottles and use one of them. I think the are 12 to 16 oz.

It is funny I didn't have enough beer once and thought the apple juice would help fill it up. I think it was also Cheaper then the beer. I thought about just doing the apple juice as well to see if that would work - but I like it this way. So probably not.

The beer is essential to the end result. And, of course, the alcohol fully cooks off. Yum!

Scott Ward

I agree. I don't necessarily like beer either but it brings out the flavor and in some cases makes meat tender. So I really only like to cook with it.
