While wet "sanding" i use a small bottle, like an old fashioned plastic ketchup bottle, to squirt water while i buff with the 3000 grit sand paper. Works Great!

Ceramic Stove top cleaner works wonders - use it every time you wash the car - no need for 'sanding or painting'.

I just use toothpaste and it works perfect to clean the lights.....

Is the spray paint also known as clear spray paint? And if so, which finish do you use, gloss or flat?

Robert Rueda 3 months ago

Toothpaste works just as well without having to use spray paint

A quick way is just use soapy sandpaper & then compound it & then buff it out, no plastic!!!!!!

Wow. I have a 12 year old F-250 and will definitely try this. What is it about the transparent paint that cleans the plastic? Certain chemical in the paint?

Randy L 5 months ago

Chara Elleissy

Must only be Plastic, No glass. The headlights that the bulb goes in the back. If ur afraid to do it ur self, Walmart does it $20 a light

I think it's important to mention what grit sand paper to use. I'd recommend the finest you can get your hands on then polish the headlight with a fine wax to bring out the shine. No spray paint!!!!

Andrew Martinez

What kind of product do you use to wash it off? Like soap?

I've try some turtle wax in that's to clean the head light like this, but it went back to being dull in a couple of weeks, how long will this last?

Clear coating your headlights still has the same outcome of being oxidized by UV radiation. I'd be aware of this when clear coating your headlights. A much more effective way would be to wetsand and then polish until the oxidation is completely removed. To me this seems like putting a bandaid on the problem. Not really fixing it. This is still effective, you just may not get the results your looking for, especially for the DIY'er who can't always lay down a perfect clear coat with a spray can.

Moy Carrillo

You can get it at Home Depot or paint store

Nice, if the scrathes are deep, you can use sandpaper 800,1500,3000 and then polish... But it takes more time and hand work. Polish machine would make this actions faster and easier. Nice report)
