Greasy grill...some may call this seasoning.  Note that this is a stainless grill and not enamel.  I have never tried this on enamel and imagine it could damage the grill over time.

Preheat the grill to an average cooking temperature, then shut it off.  Preheating helps to loosen up the grease buildup

Make a ball out of the foil and dip it in the water

Sprinkle baking soda on the ball

Start scrubbing.  Be sure to follow the direction of the bars.

Light the BBQ again and bring it up to a high cooking temperature and keep it lit. Be sure to closely monitor.

Season and clean the grill at the same time by running an oil soaked (not dripping) paper towel over it several times

Start wiping the surface down, then finish it off using a dry paper towel or clean rag

Not bad at all!  Now reheat the grill by closing the lid, and allow the olive oil to bake on a bit

You're done!  The baking soda on the burners will go away with more use, and besides, it can extinguish grease fires anyhow ;)

Buy a Weber!  This one is 10 years old and going strong.  I haven't protected it at all from the extreme weather conditions!
