Step 6 of 10

Be sure to monitor as you go. You don't want to dry out the cloth entirely and have it ignite!

Kaely, I'm not sure, maybe after a few times? Try a cup of lemon juice alongside the cloth. Becky, the cloth needs to be dripping wet to produce lots of steam. Try a longer time interval and see if that helps.

Great idea - I tried it and it works well! It probably kills some bacteria on the rag - which may enable me to use it for 2 days instead of one. I plan to make this microwave cleaning/check a part of the routine after supper dishes each night. Thanks for the tutorial!

Wow! This one is even better. I used to pour water in a mug and added a bit of lemon juice or any citrus. Then I set the time to 10 or 15 minutes. The water boils and steams the grime inside the microwave and same time makes the microwave smell good. Take the mug out and wipe off all the yucki stuff 😜. But I like this one cause its faster! Ta

I love it Jenn! I have also used a coffee mug with water in it. Heat the water in the microwave for about two minutes. The steam from the heating water soften all the dried on food and you can just wipe it clean afterwards! My kids never cover the food they heat and so, the micowave often looks like there was a small explosion!

Heather Angus 11 months ago
