Pop the hood and take the oil cap off, place the oil cap over the hood latch, so if you forget to put the cap back, you can't close the hood

Jack the car up on the drivers side, using a jack point, or using the frame rail

This car takes 6.8 quarts of synthetic oil.  This car also takes a filter cartridge that you will need a filter wrench to take off

Under the car, remove the 14mm drain plug, with your oil catch under

Once drained, replace the plug, don't over tighten

Directly in front of the drain plug, you will see a removable panel that will reveal the oil filter

Use the wrench to remove. As soon as you crack it, oil will start to drain out, so have that oil catch handy

When placing the new filter in, make sure it fits snug to the bottom. It is spring loaded so make sure it's in straight. You should be able to push the filter straight down

Take some oil and grease the gasket then replace the filter, then replace the cover

Once all done, start the car then check the oil.

To reset the warning, hold down the odometer button (on the left)

Only thing with the "oil cap over latch tip" is that you might still forget and break your oil cap when attempting to close the hood. I have a 2008 IS250 and I did exactly this. Also just a tip the best socket wrench (TOY 640) to remove the oil filter can be bought at any Toyota dealership for about $20 or on amazon.com. Great guide btw and car. New to snap guide so I need to make one soon.
