Then they need wood pulp or another type of hamster friendly wood to have on their floor of the cage.

You also need chew sticks, treats and an exercise ball. And (optional) you can have a sand bath every week for it. Clean out its cage every week and feed it once a day.

Hamsters can lose their fur if they get bored and have nothing to do in their cage, so they start to bite their fur out. This may be the explanation of your hamster, if you don't give it many toys or if it has a small cage, but otherwise take it to the vets as it may have an illness. Hope that helped and I'm sure your hammie will be better soon :)
