I'm happy you liked my guide for elderberry juice. Hopefully you'll also enjoy my newest guide for a traditional pasta dish 😉

@Nicole For some reason I have never seen elderberries in supermarkets - Try to find some blackcurrant instead and follow the rest of the process. The taste of blackcurrant is not as intense as elderberries, but I'm sure you will enjoy that juice too :-)

@Marie-Anne If Houston is within the subtropical region the chances are good :-)

Sounds amazing but do you think that you could find them in a "normal" supermarket? Thanks

Marie-Anne B

So you could find some in Houston?

@Katie I add apples to make it a little sour to balance the sweetness of the sugar. You could use lemon, oranges, limes etc.

@Bethany Thanks - glad you like the guide :-) I looked up elder and wiki gives this description of where it grows - hopefully it will help you: "The genus is native in temperate-to-subtropical regions of both the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. It is more widespread in the Northern Hemisphere; its Southern Hemisphere occurrence is restricted to parts of Australasia and South America."

@Jan If you're still living in the same area I'm sure you can find some. Elder is very willing to grow where ever the birds leave the seed :-)
