How to Block Facebook Game Invites From Your iDevice

Step 1 of 13

I get so annoyed by these notifications to join ____Ville, lucky slots and all the other Facebook app and games. Normally they can only be turned off with a computer.

Step 2 of 13

So here's how you can block these annoying invites and notifications from your iPhone. The same process is used on a PC or Mac but we'll use a browser that'll allow you to do it in your iPhone/iPod.

Step 3 of 13

You still have to go to the "Full Site" of Facebook to do this. The mobile site or app won't allow you to get to the settings you need to get to. You'll need a browser that'll allow full site access.

Step 4 of 13

There are a few of them but I use either the Photon browser or the Puffin browser. Both are available in the app store.

Step 5 of 13
Go to your Facebook page and open the menu in the top right corner. Then go to Account Settings.

Unfortunately the only way to completely stop it is to have no friends. :) They're not all trying to send these invites. Some games give the option to invite friends to play they game they just joined or downloaded the app for. Others don't even ask. They game just does it in its own.

they said its a brand new loop-hole but rather difficult to do unless you've got extensive computer knowledge. I know a friend of ours have very-very limited know-how of anything computer-related. They have a very old computer someone gave them... It's a computer that many of us old-timers very first started out with... Very large monitor, oversize hard drive with no CD cartridge... Just floppy disk and 3.5 inch thingie... Remember those back in the mid/late 80's? So... With all that noted, I wonder how to truly stop being invited to play those games day in and day out. It's very annoying and I think it's abuse when one isn't respecting original wishes. It's harassment as well. When there's a block, do they know we've blocked them? I apologise for being long-winded... That's also bc I've not yet slept yet... I'm truly curious if this has yet happened to you? If it has, what was your resolution to the problem? Once more- my sincerest apologies for the long-winded text.

The only game I ever play is Words with Friends, Scramble and Draw Something. I don't ever start a game unless I know precisely who it is and will give person a few chances... (many of them cheat the WWF game which is a total turn-off for me)... Anyhow, when I followed the instructions to a T, I was really surprised that the very games I blocked, ended up being re-created if that makes any sense?... How on earth was that done? Do you know? I did contact Apple and ...

Ron, I did this with the assistance of professionals earlier this year. (I believe it was perhaps in January)... I unfortunately am not at all able to remember all of the steps... It's pretty much like the instructions you've provided. Well, I suddenly started to receive the most despised games of ville's and diamond dash, I think the other is called lucky spot or something like it... Now... I have NEVER, not ONCE played any of the aforementioned games...
