How to Barbecue Teriyaki Tofu

This is a simple and quick recipe for barbecue teriyaki tofu. You can also try other sauces.

Cut pressed tofu into quarter inch wide rectangles.

Get a container and lay the tofu on top of one another so that you can easily apply sauce and let it marinate.

Pour your teriyaki sauce on top of the tofu and use a brush to make sure that the sauce gets on to both sides of the tofu.

Put plastic wrap on top of the container.

Put the tofu into the refrigerator and let it marinate for at least 30 min. I usually let it marinate for approximately 2 hours.

Spray the grill with non-stick cooking oil. Then turn it on to medium heat.

Put the tofu onto the grill.

Flip the tofu after a few minutes making sure it has been properly seared and has nice grill marks.

I use extra-firm tofu. The brand I buy happens to be sprouted and comes in a vacuum sealed container that doesn't require me to press it. However, most tofu should be pressed before using in this manner. As for marinades I'm using a Teriyaki sauce I bought at the supermarket, didn't make it myself this time!
