• Introducing Snapguide

    What is Snapguide?
Snapguide is a place where passionate, creative people and DIY enthusiasts create beautiful, step-by-step how to guides on what they love. The service features hundreds of user created guides on a wide array of topics including cooking, gardening, crafts, repairs, do-it-yourself projects, fashion tips, entertaining and more.

How do I create my own guide?
Download the free iPhone app! We’ve made it simple to create guides on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Snap pictures and videos that describe each step of your project — then add captions by using voice-to-text or just type them in by hand. When you’ve published your guide, you can share them with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google Plus. We are honored people are sharing their knowledge with us and that’s why guide creators own their content.

    What should I contribute?
Snapguide was created for people to share know-how in areas where they are passionate. There’s an expert in all of us! Contribute what you know. When posting content and interacting with others please respect a few simple guidelines to make sure everyone’s experience on Snapguide is enjoyable.

    Who’s using Snapguide?
Snapguide was created so that experts, passionate hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts can share their know-how with others. Whether you’re a backyard beekeper, professional chef or gardener extraordinaire sharing your projects with others has never been this easy. Follow people who share your interests and learn together by interacting through comments or private messages. Let guide authors know you appreciate their work by liking a guide.

    How did Snapguide come about?
The project came to fruition after our CTO, Steve, gave our CEO, Daniel, the Tartine Bread book. The recipes were complex and as a first time bread maker Daniel wanted to break it down and discuss the steps with his friends. He realized that there was no easy way to create and share step-by-step instructions that contained photos and videos. Snapguide grew out of the desire to document a project in realtime using a mobile device.

    How much does it cost?
Snapguide is absolutely free! For now, we’re focused on creating a delightful product that people love using and that encourages people to share knowledge with one another. In the future we might have ads, enter into partnerships with 3rd parties, and offer premium services.
